Hi Folks, Jon Wright here.
My friends call me jono, I'm an avid fisherman who's been drowning worms, grasshoppers, crickets and anything else fish will eat for nearly 50 years.
Since I love to fish, and enjoy writing, I figured I'd just blog about it to interested folks.
I was about 4 yrs old when I dragged my first big fish out of the water flippin' & floppin', and with that "Fish On" my lifelong passion began. That 5 LB Bass was just one of many caught from the clay and rock quarry pits, surrounding my home area for the next dozen years or so.
That's why ponds, pits, and smaller streams are my personal favorites to this day, and why I began this blog.
I grew up in central Missouri, lived on the outskirts of town, and in every direction I was blessed with fishing waters. Clay was mined in this area, for the local Brick Plant, and many of the clay pits there, were old and deep, 30 feet was about the normal. Behind my house and down the hill a bit was a fishing sized stream also, just the perfect set-up for an adventurous young boy.
I guess I could say water, and fishing is in my blood, since all of my family loves to drown worms too, we've had many great family fishing trips and fish frys together. over the years.
So... I'm going to tell you about some of those trips.
